Fleeting

Those simple things
took generations to erupt
and enamour the tongue

the perfect cooked breakfast
takes in a whole life
taste revives antiquity

the gentle touch of a kiss
passing luminously over the surface
vague yet dear

the joke that rattles
in your breath after
hours still amused

the echo of your voice
across the seas
distant yet close
